David
Stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights. The location was perfect, within walking distance of Nara Park and nearby shrines. The building and surroundings were beautiful, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The room was comfortable and quiet, with an immaculate bathroom stocked with high-quality bath products. The sense of history in the hotel was captivating, and the direct limousine bus from Kansai airport was convenient.
Recommend this hotel.

Greatly enjoyed this fairly clean and beautiful historical place, attentive staff and brand-new rooms. Booked a room with magnificent views over the park. The location was absolutely perfect and magnificent, for example, a world-class museum was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel. It was located in a very convenient area.

I chose Nara Hotel specifically to visit the Neiraku Art Museum, and I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary high-speed internet access throughout the property. The buffet-style meals served at the banquet hall were delightful.
Slightly remote location, rooms lack character.

the location was comfy and best possible - an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to go. it was a super close walk to naginoki, where you can have lunch.
Some of the staff were not very friendly.

a very beautiful historic building at a perfect location, very close to the most traditional part of nara. and hotel itself is actually just like a park. you can even see deers just outside your window in the morning. all staff are extremely nice and patient and the service is pretty good. and the lounge at first floor is also recommendable.
the facilities are relatively old regarding the price. room not so big.

Convenient Shuttle Service and Beautiful Views
During my stay at a hotel in Nara, I was amazed by the convenience of their own free shuttle bus that transported guests from the railroad stations to the hotel. It made getting around the city a breeze. Additionally, my upgraded room in the old wing offered breathtaking views of Mt. Wakakusa. The 15-foot ceilings and old-style windows added to the charm of the hotel. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel for its shuttle service and stunning views.

Very good location for sightseeing (grab a taxi to/from the train station if you arrive/leave by train). Very polite and helpful (English speaking) staff. Spotless room, comfortable bed. Will stay again if I ever visit the city again.
No wifi in rooms (wifi in lounges/reception, cable in room) is the only negative thing i can think about. :-)

Near the park
Staff is not helpful and kindly as asual in Japan. Price is high and dinner or breakfeast are overpriced (more than 100 euros for a dinner) Bathroom is very old fashion (in modern part of the hotel!)

For my Christmas stay, I enjoyed the great view from my room, which had a beautiful fireplace that made the ambiance very cosy. The breakfast was also quite tasty, with a variety of options that pleased my palate. the hotel's location was perfect for me, as it was right on the edge of a park and conveniently close to the shrines and temples.
The hotel felt out-of-date and unkempt. The room was dirty and cramped, and the bathroom was in need of repair.

Room was great. Very comfortable.
I thought the location was great, it being near the Kintetsu Nara station. Unfortunately, while the hotel isn't far from the hustle and bustle of Nara, to get there you need to climb quite a few flights of stairs. I was sweating, in autumn weather, by the time I reached the hotel. Not for the independent traveller. The staff were generally helpful but most are not able to converse in English.
